Lisa G., Veterinary Assistant

Lisa has been a proud member of the TruVet team since June 2023, bringing with her nearly a decade of experience in the veterinary world. She first stepped into the specialty field as a service coordinator in surgery and, through dedication and hard work, worked her way up to assistant and later supervisor. Along the way, she also gained valuable experience in emergency veterinary services, a field she continues to enjoy, while adding some variety to her career by working as a receptionist in two human outpatient surgical centers in San Francisco. Lisa graduated from San Francisco State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

When she’s not at TruVet, Lisa is all about making memories and finding adventures. Life with a toddler keeps her on her toes, whether it’s exploring hiking trails, enjoying river days, digging into the garden, or heading off on family trips. She loves spending time with family and friends, and as a former competitive AQHA youth equestrian, she still seizes any chance she gets to go horseback riding.

Though Lisa currently has no pets of her own, her heart is still with her beloved quarter horse, Sony, who she described as her dearest friend. Sony crossed the rainbow bridge in 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer, but his memory continues to inspire her love of animals.

The most inspiring part of her job is the constant opportunity to learn, grow, and work with amazing and talented people every day. Her advice to anyone interested in joining the TruVet team is to be open-minded, flexible, willing to help, and always remain humble.
