What To Expect
As a courtesy to our other patients, if you need to change your appointment time, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. If your dog or cat is having a surgery, an ultrasound, an endoscopic procedure, or any diagnostic which may require sedation or anesthesia please remember to not feed your pet after midnight. Please feel free to contact us at 707-787-5340 if you are uncertain if your dog or cat should fast.
Please plan to bring any medications (both prescribed and over the counter) including supplements that your pet is currently taking to your appointment. If your dog or cat is on a special diet and may stay for procedure, please bring enough food for at least two days.
After you arrive, please check in at the reception desk and let them know you have arrived. At that time your pet’s weight and vital signs will be obtained and a physical exam will be performed. The history and records from your primary veterinarian will be reviewed. The specialist will then discuss their findings with you, and together you will come up with a treatment plan that is best for both you and your pet. An estimate for the agreed plan will then be reviewed by a member of the medical team.
We know you love your pet and want them to feel as safe and secure as possible so please trust that we will do all we can to make your pet comfortable and treat your pet as our own. We cannot be responsible for personal belongings such as carriers, beds, leashes, or any personal items for your pet. If your pet is admitted, please take these items with you.
Discharge (Yay! Your pet is coming home!)
Upon completion of your pet’s procedures or hospitalization, your primary veterinarian will be contacted regarding care and management of your pet. At the time of discharge, a member of our medical team will review any discharge instructions with you and answer any questions.
