Meet Julie, our HR Manager at TruVet Specialty and Emergency Hospital. Joining our team in February 2024, Julie brings a wealth of experience in veterinary management and as a Registered Veterinary Technician. With a remarkable career spanning over 33 years, Julie’s journey began at Western Career College in Sacramento, California in 1992.

Throughout her career, Julie has delved into various specialties including Avian and Exotics, laboratory medicine, emergency and critical care, disaster medicine, oncology, neurology, internal medicine, and surgery. Beyond her RVT credentials, she has served in diverse roles such as Safety Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Practice Manager, and Hospital Administrator, showcasing her multifaceted experience.

In pursuit of excellence, Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management in 2011, equipping her to lead in the veterinary industry. Her dedication is further evident through her certifications, including Fear Free certification, Professional Human Resource certification (PHRca), and Disaster Preparedness and Response for animals (National Veterinary Response Team – NVRT) training through FEMA and the National Disaster Medical System.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Julie finds joy in crafts, sewing, and refinishing furniture. Most importantly, she cherishes spending time with her significant other, her family, and her beloved furry companions: Zack (Border Collie), Zena the warrior princess (black and white kitty) and Zeke the Geek (black and white kitty).

Julie’s favorite aspect of the veterinary industry is witnessing the bond formed between patients and staff, fueled by compassion, patience, and attentiveness. This bond, she believes, plays a pivotal role in the patients’ journey towards recovery, reflecting the heart of our practice at TruVet.
