Julie R., RVT, Hospital Administrator

Julie joined TruVet February 2024 as our HR Manager and as of July 2025 she became our new Hospital Administrator. Julie brings a wealth of experience in veterinary management and after many years is still proud to be called a Registered Veterinary Technician. With a remarkable career spanning over 34 years, Julie’s journey began at Western Career College in Sacramento, California in 1992.

Throughout her career, Julie has delved into various specialties including Avian and Exotics, Laboratory medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, disaster medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery as well as managing veterinary general practices. Beyond her RVT credentials, she has served in diverse roles such as Safety Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Practice Manager, and Hospital Administrator, showcasing her multifaceted experience.

In pursuit of becoming a well-rounded leader, Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management in 2011, equipping her to lead in the veterinary industry. Her dedication is further evident through her certifications, including Fear Free certification, Professional Human Resource – California certification (PHRca), Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional (CCFP) and Disaster Preparedness and Response for animals (National Veterinary Response Team – NVRT) training through FEMA and the National Disaster Medical System.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Julie finds joy in crafts, sewing, and refinishing furniture. Most importantly, she cherishes spending time with her family, and her beloved furry companions: Zack (Border Collie), Zena the Warrior Princess (white and black kitty) and Zeke the Geek (tuxedo).

Julie’s favorite aspect of the veterinary industry is witnessing the bond formed between patients and staff, fueled by compassion, patience, and attentiveness. This bond, she believes, plays a pivotal role in the patients’ journey towards recovery, reflecting the heart of our practice at TruVet.
