Jess T., RVT, Education Manager
Jess has been part of the TruVet story since the very beginning of our training journey. She originally built the education and training program that we still use today and rejoined us as Education Manager at the end of October 2025. Prior to stepping back into this role, Jess continued supporting TruVet in a relief capacity, making her both a familiar and trusted leader within our hospital.
Jess has been in veterinary medicine since 2011, with experience spanning wildlife rehabilitation, general practice, zoo medicine, and emergency care. Outside of clinical practice, she’s also worked as a wildlife biologist specializing in California herpetology, so if it crawls, slithers, or scales, Jess knows it.
She holds a Master of Science in Biology from Sonoma State University and has been a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) since 2016. Jess brings a passion for education, mentorship, and lifelong learning to everything she does, and she’s deeply invested in helping technicians grow both their skills and confidence.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys hiking and “herping” with friends. She shares her life with her partner, Brian, and a very full household of pets:
- Cats: Draymond, Stephanie, Jackie Moon, Michelle, Millie Jean, and Juno
- Dogs: Franklin (a puggle) and Romy (a lab mix)
What inspires Jess most about her role?
“I really enjoy it when my technician colleagues learn new skills and gain confidence. My advice would be to be open to learning new and different methods, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.”
We’re grateful to have Jess leading education at TruVet and helping shape the next generation of TruVet’s veterinary superstars.
