Cassie M., Veterinary Assistant

Cassie officially joined TruVet full-time in July 2025 after being a familiar face around the hospital as a relief veterinary assistant for several years. With over 12 years in the veterinary industry, she brings a wealth of experience and a true passion for animal care. Her career has spanned roles in client service, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, internal medicine, and cardiology. Beyond veterinary work, Cassie has also applied her compassion and dedication in outpatient mental health as both a case manager and residential counselor, earning the title of Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and is currently a nursing student, set to graduate in December 2025. Always eager to expand her skills, Cassie is working toward her Level 2 Fear- Free certification and has completed Advanced Life Support through the Recover CPR program for veterinary professionals.

When she’s not caring for patients, you might find Cassie hiking scenic trails, knitting or crocheting cozy creations, or getting lost in her favorite video games—especially Stardew Valley and The Legend of Zelda. At home, she and her fiancé, Tom, share their lives with a delightfully quirky fur family: Kimchi, a spirited Maltese mix; Poppy, a lovable Pug; and Moof, a fluffy domestic longhair who rules the roost with grace (and the occasional hair flip).

The most inspiring part of Cassie’s job as a veterinary assistant at TruVet is that she loves having the opportunity to connect with pets and their owners, and she is passionate about education to support pets in living their best life! She loves coming to work because it gives her the chance to make a difference every single day.
