Sage B., Sterile Resource Assistant
Sage joined the TruVet team in February 2025 as a Sterile Resource Technician supporting our busy surgery department. From the moment she stepped into the hospital, her love for animals and eagerness to learn were clear, and she’s been a valued part of the team ever since.
Sage’s passion for animal care started early. As a child, she participated in programs at the Santa Rosa Humane Society, and later went on to volunteer at Morti’s Used Book Nook & Cat Adoption Lounge as well as Mini Cat Town in the Santa Rosa Plaza Mall. Whether cleaning surgical instruments or sharing a quiet moment with a patient, she brings heart and purpose to every task.
She is currently enrolled in the SRJC RVT program and hopes to continue her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Zoology at Sonoma State University. Her long-term goal? Veterinary school at UC Davis, and we have no doubt she’ll get there!
Sage is also Fear-Free Certified, helping ensure every animal she handles receives care with comfort and compassion.
When she’s not at TruVet or hitting the books, Sage enjoys hiking, camping, reading, working out, cooking, and spending quality time with her ever-growing furry family.
Sage and her boyfriend, also a veterinary assistant and SRJC RVT student, share their home with quite the crew:
- Zeus – a 4-year-old Pit Bull/Husky mix
- Prince – a 10-month-old Border Collie mix
- Thor – a 10-week-old Rottweiler/Cane Corso/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix
- Stormi – their resident bunny
- And two vibrant Betta fish
And the most exciting news? They’re expecting their first baby, adding a new little life to their already lively household!
Helping animals has always been deeply personal to Sage, they’ve been there for her, her whole life, and now she gets to be there for them. Being part of their healing process is truly the most rewarding feeling.
