Lydia Williams, Veterinary Assistant

Since I was young, a constant in my life was a never ending interest in learning all that I could about animals. Encyclopedias, textbooks, field guides, and documentaries filled my world with excitement and curiosity. I loved animals, science, and medicine. It’s safe to say that veterinary medicine felt perfect for me. I am currently finishing my education for my RVT license at SRJC and hope to continue working towards my board exam. My favorite part of veterinary medicine is the shared passion for working with animals, advocating for them, and the opportunity to learn something new everyday.

Over the last few years, I’ve spent most of my free time working and volunteering at a local non-profit music venue in Downtown Petaluma, giving me the opportunity to learn so much about not only the community, but also its local music. In the future, I would love to work with local rescues to continue my community based work, while incorporating my love for animals.

I spend my days off with my amazing husband, our two cats Beetlejuice and Grim, and our two dogs Rhino and Frosty. I love collecting crystals and plants, Halloween, spending time outside, and coffee.
