Claire Lyons, Registered Veterinary Technician and Inventory Manager
I started as a Kennel Technician in 2008 and worked my way up from cleaning/doing laundry to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician managing the ICU at my previous job. My passion is taking care of critical patients, and my goal is to never stop learning, eventually obtaining a Veterinary Technician Specialty license in Emergency/Critical Care. I strive to always provide the best possible patient care taking into consideration not only their physical needs but their mental ones as well. I am a Fear-Free Certified Veterinary Professional and use that training to help decrease the anxiety or fear my patients may be experiencing after becoming ill or injured. I want my patients to feel safe during our time together and am proud to work in a hospital that practices state of the art veterinary medicine. I am a FEMA-certified Sonoma CART volunteer, on-call to assist with veterinary needs during various disasters in our area (such as fires and flooding). I LOVE the Boxer dog breed and currently have a Boxer named Penny Piggy, as well as a Chihuahua mix named Potato Mouse. My dogs are my world, and if I am not working my husband and I are probably spending the day outdoors with them. Having a career where I am able to help animals is the absolute best. As a pet parent myself, I know firsthand how scary it can be to bring your family member to the hospital. I aim to ensure your entire family feels supported and included during this difficult time. Thank you for the trust you place in us.
